Why would Vegas trade MAF when Lehner recently had surgery for his torn rotator cuff? |

why would columbus go after Hoffman if Dubois and Gavrikov aren't under contract... |
|
|

Ek needs clicks
Montreal in on Hoffman ( with what cap space? )
Montreal in on Gaudreau ( doesnt have the assets to trade for him OR the cap space)

Hoffman is the only UFA scorer left. Once he signs that will open up hockey trade opportunities as I believe there are many teams looking to tweak their rosters with next season and the expansion draft in mind.
Please spare us the continuous BS on Ghost as everyone knows he has zero value league wide and the only way he moves is in a cap dump deal! |

Don't be a dingleberry, there is absolutely no reason the Flyers have to add a 1st with Ghost.
Worry more about your teams poor cap management and hopefully one day see the 2nd round. |

Just giving my two cents here, I was listening to Treliving on Tim & Sid yesterday and there is no way Gaudreau is going to Montreal. Treliving is basically GMing for his job right now and is in win now mode. There is nobody on Montreal's roster that makes Calgary better off without Gaudreau. I know the flames like Josh Anderson but not at that contract, there is way too much risk and Montreal just signed him.

Then my apologies.
I would still worry about that cap mess though. |

Not unrealistic to think we couldn't have all if PLD signs a bridge deal. Better question is if we want him, and I don't know that we do... |

Yes, he meant first on the boards not a pick to add to a deal LOL.
Hawks will see the second round before Philly hoists the Cup

I'd be really curious why PGH would be interested in MAF. They have their tandem set and they don't have 3.5m or more (the max amount of Fleury's 7m VGK can keep is half) laying around anyway. Just because he used to play for them there's a 'deal to be made'? Is that really how it works? |

EK hasn't been right on a single MAF rumour to date, he's just keeping it running.

I don't even see how the Penguins could make this work financially even if Vegas retained half.

Yeah i dont see the fit. Ward was just saying they want to seriously see if putting Lindholm at Centre improves the team. Him Tkachuk & Mangi were a pretty solid unit.
They also have to leave Bennett at 3rd line C to see what they have as big decisions have to be made on him next year as well. So that leaves trading 1 of Monahan or Backlund. That Simon signing was key as the kid could keep up with Crosby & Guentz but I know couldnt score if his life depended on it, aka Lombardi or Byron(when he was with Calgary) but he was a possession player that could play that RW with Monahan & Gaudreau. That would make sense. Leaves Backlund odd one out. |

Goodreau to the Habs????
Yeah if Calgary would take Drouin (1.5M retained) and Danault and Poehling and a3rd
Montreal would get Goodreau and Bennett
Unlikely though........... |

Gaudreau isn't getting traded unless it's a massive overpay that makes them better this year, and which team is doing that trade? Why would they overpay for Markstrom and Tanev then immediately take a step back by trading Gaudreau? The only way Gaudreau is traded is if their team is a disaster this year.
There also really isn't any way for a Gaudreau trade to Montreal to make sense with the cap space and players they have. It'd have to be something like Drouin, Kotkaniemi, and a first, and I don't think either side would be all that happy with that. |

Was Ghost a healthy scratch most of the playoffs? Mostly 3rd pairing minutes during the season?
If not for Bonus Structure he could be a buyout candidate - so for now he is a Salary Dump or at best change of scenery guy? |
